The Anamnesis
The Anamnesis is the mystical and living remembrance of the Lord’s death, resurrection, ascension and second coming.
We offer a sacrifice to God, and God offers a sacrifice on behalf of man, and the two meet in the rite of the liturgy. We offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and God bestows a sacrifice of salvation. Our sacrifice is an expression of gratitude, as if saying, “From Your hand, we have given You”.

“For every time you eat of this bread and drink of this cup, you proclaim My death, confess My resurrection, and remember Me till I come.”

Your death, O Lord, we proclaim.
Your holy resurrection
And ascension into the heavens, we confess.
We praise You,
We bless You,
We thank You, O Lord,
And we entreat You, O our God.

Therefore, as we also commemorate His holy passion, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension into the heavens, His sitting at Your right hand, O Father, and His second coming from the heavens, full of awe and glory, we offer unto You Your oblations from what is Yours, for every condition, concerning every condition, and in every condition.
Deacon
Worship God in awe and reverence.
Congregation
We praise You,
We bless You,
We serve You,
And we worship You.
At this, all should be prostrating or bowing their heads in reverence.
